This book is comprehensive (meaning not very long). It is packed with very practical tips that you can put into immediate use for measuring and analyzing the effectiveness of your organization. It is principles-based, which means that you apply the principles regardless of the personalities involved. It is no longer a matter of how you feel that day--your decisions will be based on these principles, rather than on the good ole boy system.
If you just want to promote your buddies and fire those whom you don't like, that's your business, but that's not the right way to do business. If you follow Sokol's plan, success will follow. He has turned around some poorly operating companies into extremely profitable ones. Warren Buffett has anointed Sokol to be his successor, and it wasn't because of his nice personality. It was because of the principles in this book.
